Wonderful joint meeting with RAC Sofia Balkan
Rotaract Club Sofia International had the honor to initiate a joint meeting with its partners and friends from Rotaract Club Sofia Balkan. This happened after the President of the RAC Sofia International Mr. Dimiter Mandradjiev invited Rotaract Club Sofia Balkan due to the successful implementation of the project “Christmas Trees for Christmas Spirit”.
The meeting started with welcoming speeches by Mr. Iordan Terzyiski on behalf of Rotaract club Sofia Balkan as its President and Mr. Dimiter Mandradjiev ( President of Rotaract club Sofia International).
Both clubs talked about the previous initiatives they have implemented:
- Rotaract Europe Meeting (REM) Sofia 2010 - Giving special certificates for the head organization of the REM Sofia 2010 to arch. Jordan Terzyiski and to attn. Geno Andreev (DRR 2009/2010 for d2482)
- “Christmas trees” project – explanation of the project and giving certificates to Ms. Raya Popova and Ms. Slavena Slavkova for their strong devotion and commitment to the project
- Donation of 45 – clothes dryers to the Elderly people’ home in Zona B5
The members of both clubs also talked about the following future projects:
a) Martenizi project
– explanation for the project: martenizi, which have the logo of Rotaract and with the flag of Bulgaria – this project unifies 1st March and 3rd March as national holidays.
b) Casino charity
– it should include several games and the main idea is that all money, gained or lost, will go to charity ( in particular, for creating a sensor room in a kindergarten for kids with special needs
c) Basketball club for disabled people ( Project of Rotaract Sofia Balkan)
- The club is already established, there is a great interest and many disabled people participate in it. A financial cooperation is needed because the club is developing very fast and has its special needs an idea for future cooperation with other Rotaract clubs and further promotion in order for future sponosorships
Finally the members of the Rotaract club Sofia Balkan invited the mmebers and guests of the Rotaract club Sofia International to the Birthday party of Rotaract Sofia Balkan ( 20th of February, 2010).
The meeting was held on Jan 18 2010 at the Downtown Hotel from 19:00 h. until 21:00 h. Afterwards the 45 members and guests went to have a informal meeting in a nearby restaurant.
