The members of Rotaract Club Sofia International made a donation of more than 70 wonderful books on Saturday (Oct 10 2009). The books were donated to 2 homes for elderly people in Sofia city – disricts “Darvenitsa” and “Gornia Banya”. The elderly people warmly welcomed the donation and had a pleasant chat on various issues with the Rotaractors.

The idea behind the project is that elderly people in safe homes do no have a wide variety of literature or access to libraries in a convenient way. This is why the young Rotarians decided to start this initiative. We hope that this project will be succeeded by many more of this kind.

More than half of the books were bought from RAC Sofia International and the rest were donated. The president of RAC Sofia International Mr. Dimiter Mandradjiev donated a sum for the project and the president of Rotary Club Sofia International (the sponsor club) Mr. Stoian Kuchoukov donated around 20 books for the project.

The members of the Club consisted of Ms. Paola Ivanova, Ms. Desislava Dimova, Ms. Stanislava Dermanska, Mr. Ivan Roujev and e guest of the Club who also helped the fascilitation of the event.
