Rotary Club Sofia International, Rotaract Club Sofia International and Rotary Club Ihtiman (District 2482, Bulgaria) concluded a very successful 2nd ROTARY CHARITY GOLF OURNAMENT in the night hours of Saturday (October 31 2009) at Air Sofia Golf Club in Ihtiman.

The Charity Golf Day started at 10:00 am – with the Shotgun start and continued to around 21:00 the same day. Guest had the ability to be part of the day by handing in the sum of 40.00 lv. per person for charity purposes. The players however registered for the amount of  100 lv.

All proceeds are now going to be designated in order to support two initiatives. The first one is supported by Rotary Club Sofia International and is based in Sofia. It aims the development of community based social services for prevention of abandonment and return of the children in risk in family environment as well as development of services for their families. The second one is supported by Rotary Club Ihtiman, and aims to further the professional qualifications and re-training of the unemployed.

Many prizes, trophies, cocktails, raffle, wine tasting, art auction, golf lessons for beginners, horse riding, tennis courts were just the extras that the guests were accompanied with during the day.

The players were around 80 people and the guests around 100. Special guests were the ambassador of Japan H.E. Mr. Tsuneharu Takeda and his wife; other members of foreign diplomatic missions in Bulgaria; Bulgarian and foreign businessmen and businesswomen.

From Rotaract Club Sofia International present were Mr. Dimiter Mandradjiev (president), Ms. Paola Ivanova (secretary-general) and Ms. Stanislava Dermanska (member). Also Mr. Atanas Mihnev from Interact Sofia International at the Anglo-American School participated as a player and from the other Interact Club sponsored by Rotary Club Sofia International – Interact Sofia International at Merridian 22 private school were on the spot helping and supporting the initiative.

The sum that was gathered

is more than 4000. The District-Governor was a special guest who gave out the prizes as also participated in the charitable auction in which auctioneer was Mr. Philip Clayton (member of RCSI).
